Parenting Counts

Helping to promote successful parenting

Parenting Counts is a program offered by Talaris Institute to help promote successful parenting. The Program provides professional training, products, and informational services that are supported by a foundation of child development and parenting research for children birth to age five.

The reason for the Professional Training Program…

To teach professionals how to support parents

The Parenting Counts Professional Training encourages professionals from diverse backgrounds to teach research based parenting and child development information to families through workshops, seminars, home visits, and parent outreach opportunities in their own communities. The training offers a way for professional to not only learn and interpret foundation research in the areas of early child development and parenting but also teach it to parents.

What will you learn?

Successful parenting during the early years is known to be a dominant influencer in the healthy social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of a child. During the training, professionals will learn about the essential “Four Early Learning Pillars” in early child development. Understanding these pillars will help parents in their efforts to influence the best possible outcomes for their child. The pillars include key research and best practices that represent significant developmental areas for children and have enormous benefits for parents and caregivers. Successful parenting comes from listening, caring, understanding, and guiding children through developmentally appropriate stages - and from sharing pleasurable time together along the way. Learn how you can help influence successful parenting by attending a training and becoming a Parenting Counts Professional! For more information about the training or upcoming training events call Alison Maul at 206-859-5600, or email Alison at AlisonM@Talaris.org.
